What is the importance of yoga in our dat to day life?

“As long as you don’t stop, you can achieve whatever you want in life”

What is Yoga?

The ancient Indian saints used to follow a set of exercise to discipline the body and mind in their conquest of
nirvana which was later termed as Yoga. It was made popular by Saint Patanjali in his book Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. The term Yoga has its origin from sanskrit which means Union. The postures and position of Yoga are inspired by the living creatures they saw around them and hence they quoted it the process of uniting with the nature. As an example here is the image of the position called The Scorpion (hin. Vrischikasan)

How can it affect your life?
Practicing yoga will transform you from inside out:-
- It increases your concentration level and energizes your mind which eventually help in learning and understanding more complex problems.
- builds up your immunity
- decreases stress level and keeps you calm and composed.
- removes unwanted fat from the body and keep your body well-shaped.
- makes you more disciplined and focused.
- increases you body's energy level and you feel charged up throughout the day.
- eliminates fear and makes you a confident person.

So now tell me if you are happy with your body being at its best, have high concentration and your mind is ready for action every time you want it to, wouldn't you be the happiest person on the planet? You will feel fulfilled and an achiever. You will stop cursing yourself for being lazy and stressed as you will be able to do more and achieve more in your
routine as well as professional job. Long story short you will be in LOVE with yourself.

 More discipline with myself

There would be many things could make me skip my yoga classes but I always put a rule for myself, being punctual for the class I already registered. It was actually hard in the beginning to keep the schedule because my life before yoga was different, I always worked late or went to parties after works, or just feel tired. Then, I keep telling myself that I have to go. Now, whatever I get an invitation, if it is not very important, I will join after my yoga time.

Yoga helps to release negative energy and tension in the body gently.

Through the use of breathing exercises, known as pranayama, yoga allows the body to relax. As you relax, you feel calmer and more at ease in your body. A lot of students say this is the main reason why they enjoy practicing yoga.

Yoga poses to develop suppleness and strength in your body.

This helps to relieve stiffness, joint aches and pain in the back, neck and shoulders. As your body becomes stronger, more flexible, you feel better and more able to do the things you enjoy.

Balancing emotional volatility - In order to stabilize the turbulent mind, relieve stress and overcome fatigue, one should practice the following: swadhyaya (introspection self-analysis), pranayama (breathing techniques for control of vital energy), pratyahara (sensory withdrawal), dharana (intense concentration), dhyana (meditational oneness) and bhajana (devotional music). These help to maintain emotional balance which is vital for good health.
