What are some top fashion tips for guys?

A man has to be well-dressed to exude his confidence, attractiveness, and charisma. But contrary to popular belief, being well-dressed is not about wearing expensive clothes and latest fashions. It’s all about what you choose and how you wear them...Here are some simple fashion rules that will help you be a dapper gentleman without making any great effort. So, stick to them and up your style quotient effortlessly !!!

 Let’s start with the haircut—

    • Know that not everyone can pull off every style, but if you style your hair according to the shape of your face— you can actually enhance attention to your facial features like cheekbones or chin.

This chart summarizes it perfectly.

For ex. I have a square shape face and undercut or Faux Hawk suits it well. On the other hand, if I was to try side fringes, it would suck.

  • Don’t shampoo daily. Do it in a 2–3 day interval depending on how oily your hair gets and the humidity of the place you live in.
  • Golden rule: Use gel to get the wet look and wax to enhance the hold.
  • We Indian men have been raised with the habit of oiling our hair till they’re dripping it— don’t.
    • While oil is great for your scalp, the look it’ll give will repel the women around you.
    • Best thing which I do is to oil the hair nicely before hitting the bed before the shampoo day, and wash it off gently in the morning.
    • It retains the health of your hair.
  • Also, avoid using products every day to prevent damage. Little oil or hair cream works just fine.

The Beard—

Fashion—

  • Rule No. 1— Do not follow Ranveer Singh.
  • Rule No. 2— You do not follow Ranveer Singh

It was fun when you donned the Mario outfit Ranveer. Now it’s just weird.

Well, if you can’t afford thousand dollar Gucci apparel like most men, here are some cool & cost-effective tips for you—

  • Don’t go for slim fit t-shirts if you’re a little out of shape— the long hanging regular fits will do. Men on the plus side of the spectrum should go for the baggy attires.
  • Keep your jeans skinny.
    • Avoid square toed shoes.
    • Also, Deep V-necks? Nooooo!
  • Grab ankle length socks, not the ones which try to reach your knees.
  • I have seen a lot of office-going folks switch to the half-length shirts to brave the Indian summers.
    • Nope. They don’t fly at all.
    • Fold the sleeves of your shirts instead.
  • Don’t fold up your jeans from the bottom unless you’re soaking your feet in the lukewarm water of your grandmother’s tub.
    • Make sure that the length ends just where it meets the shoes.
    • Also, ensure that it doesn’t fall down all the way to the floor.
  • Men working in offices— match the color of your socks with your pants (not the shoes).
    • When out of options, opt for black color socks.
    • Also, Socks with slippers or sandals? Uh-uh.
  • Don’t use too much deodorant or cologne.
    • Even Angels won’t fall for that.
  • Pink shirts are a big no.
  • When in doubt— plain white or black t-shirts/shirts with blue denims fly.
    • My go-to outfit is grey round-neck Henley’s with black denims.

Pick Shorts that are at just the Right Length...

Not too long and not too short – this is how shorts are supposed to fit. So, don’t wear shorts that fall below the knee or ones that are too short. The perfect pick is that which breaks at knee or no more than 2-3 inches above the knee...

Don’t ever wear white socks with any Formal or Casual Outfit...

Unless you’re playing sports outdoors or going to the gym, no excuse is acceptable for wearing white socks. They’re meant to be worn as sportswear, and should not be worn with any casual or formal outfit – especially a suit. So, please wear white socks only when working out and invest in a couple of dress socks to go with dress shoes and outfits...

Never Tuck in Casual Shirts and Polos...

Casual shirts and Polos are meant to be worn untucked. They fit better with torso and don’t have all that extra fabric material like the classic fit shirts do. But make sure that their proportions are clean. Shirt or Polo tee should not cross your hips in length, otherwise tucking in is recommended to avoid looking nerdy....

Using Ice To Remove Gum From Clothes...

Ah, the old gum on the pants trick. Most of us have been there but short of torching your favorite garment after such a dire incident, not many know that gum can be removed by simply freezing it. Some say use ice cubes for fifteen minutes but I say just go all out and whack in into the freezer as per #1. You won’t have to deal with melting ice, numb hands and once the gum becomes hard and brittle you can simply peel it off...

Remove Red Wine Stains With White Wine...

White wine is understood to dissolve the anthocyanin that gives red wine its color. This has been proven by some internet geniuses already but I must stress that you should wash your garment immediately in stain-removing detergent after using the white wine to avoid bleached stains. This will show even on a white shirt so be weary on how long you leave it soaked to avoid permanent damage in the name of cleaning...
